Sill factory party!
Yesterday was our friend Charles' 30th Birthday and he had a great party to celebrate. The party was held in Tjörn which is a small island off the west coast of Sweden. Charles' grandpa started a sill (pickled herring) factory about 100 years ago and the party was held in the now refurbished factory. Charles and his family have renovated the factory so that they can now use it as a summer house and the main part of the factory where the sill was stored before it was pickled is now used as a large function room. It is an amazing place with all the original woodwork still intact and lots of interesting black and white photos and fishing memorabilia hung up. Below is a photo of Charles's grandpa out on the jetty outside the factory selling sill (excuse the reflection of me in the glass!)

Unfortunately my photos from the party have not come out as the factory was lit by candles so it was a bit dark for photos, but here are some photos taken this morning from the front of the factory. As you can see it was a little bit cold for a day at the seaside!!

happy birthday to ur friend! visit my site.
Your pictures are quite cool. Are those ice breaking that I see?
What a beautiful place that is...it seems like an island, which is nice. That might sound strange, but for example, I tend to forget that I am living and working on an island (Zealand), just because that island is so big. What a wonderful place for a party!
Let me say that those pictures made me shiver!!!
